EMPOWERMENTS FROM THE LONGCHEN NYINGTIK, 18th – 22nd May 2018, with Kyabje Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche

Dear friends,

we are happy to announce that Kyabje Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche will visit London in May 2018.
He will bestow Empowerments from the Longchen Nyingtik (18th–22nd May 2018) at Rigpa in London, organized by Palyul Centre UK.

Kyabje Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche is the senior-most Khenpo in the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, and among the most important lineage holders in the Palyul tradition.   Khenchen Rinpoche is also the oldest and closest student of the late His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, and worked tirelessly with him from 1968  onwards, when Namdroling Monsastery was being established in Bylakuppe in south India.  Today, he continues to uphold His Holiness Penor Rinpoche’s legacy.

Khenchen Rinpoche is one of the last of a generation of authentic Lamas who hold the pure lineage of the Nyingma tradition, both Kama and Terma.  We have all heard of the great masters in the past such as His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, His Holiness Penor Rinpoche and many more; the blessings and the transmission of Dzogpachenpo of these great masters is very much alive in Khenchen Rinpoche’s being, like a beacon shining through the darkness of our present time.

In 2001, His Holiness Penor Rinpoche gave the empowerments of the ‘three root’ sadhanas of the Longchen Nyingtik cycle – Rigdzin Dupa, Dukngal Rangdrol and Yumkha Dechen Gyalmo – at Rigpa in London.  We at the Playul Centre UK felt it would be extremely auspicious, as the world is facing such a chaotic and difficult time, to continue the Lonchen Nyingtik initiations that he began in London.  So we have requested Khenchen Rinpoche to bestow four empowerments over five days at the Rigpa centre.  He has kindly accepted to grant the empowerments of Palchen Dupa, Lama Drakpo Takhyung Barwa, Senge Dongchen, and Vajrasattva.

If you received the three root empowerments from His Holiness Penor Rinpoche last time, it would be a wise decision to receive these additional empowerments and you are strongly encouraged to attend all five days.  And for those who did not receive the empowerments on that occasion, you should not miss this opportunity

On Friday 18th May will be the Tagon, preliminary of the Palchen Dupa (eight Herukas). Door opens at 6pm and start at 7pm, finishing around 9pm   30 GBP – concessions 20 GBP

On Saturday 19th May will be the actual empowerment of Palchen Dupa. Door opens at 12.30 pm, start at 1.30pm, finishing around 5pm   30 GBP – concessions 20 GBP

On Sunday 20th May will be Lama Dragpo Takyun Barwa.  Door opens at 12.30 pm start at 1.30pm, finishing around 5pm  30 GBP – concessions 20 GBP

On Monday 21st May will be Senge Dongchen (Lion-faced Dakini). Door opens at 6pm start at 7pm, finishing around 9pm   30 GBP – concessions 20 GBP

On Tuesday 22nd May will be the Dorsem (Vajrasattva). Door opens at 6pm start at 7pm, finishing around 9pm  30 GBP – concessions 20 GBP

For all 5 days 150 GBP – concessions 100 GBP

Those who would like to take refuge from Khenchen Rinpoche, please let us know by emailing us, and we will try to fit this ceremony in at some point on Sunday.

If we are fortunate to accumulate enough positive karma, we will invite Khenchen Rinpoche to return in the near future to complete the Longchen Nyinthik cycle.

Please book early – it will help us to set up the seating arrangements properly so every one of us can sit comfortably and have the right frame of mind during the empowerments.

Please e-mail Chonyi Wodser at center-uk@palyul.eu with your full name, which days you would like to come or for the whole five days, and how you wish to pay, plus photo of proof of concession (Senior, Student, Unwaged) if relevant.

There are two ways you can pay: via BACS –  we will send you our bank details for a BACS transfer – or you can send us a cheque made out to Paylyul Centre UK;  once we have received payment we will reserve your place for the empowerments.

For more details please contact Lama Dawa at the Palyul Centre UK on 07951 089603 or leave a message on Palyul Centre UK phone number on 020 7359 5964.
