on Sunday, March 27th, from 1:30pm – 3:00pm Ven. Pema Rinpoche will give a teaching about Padmasabhava or “The Lotus Born” in Sanskrit, who is worshiped from the Tibetan Buddhists as the second enlightened Buddha. His appearing in this world was predicted by Buddha Shakyamuni himself.
Padmasabhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche (“The Precious Teacher”), introduced the Vajrayana Buddhism in Tibet in the eight century. His name is related with the foundation of the oldest school under the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism – Nyingma.
Ven. Pema Rinpoche and Acharya Lopon Dawa will perform the Puja “Shower of Blessings” by Mipham Rinpoche and a Guru Tsog practice. These prayers help us to remove the obstacles that hinders our success, prosperity and happiness, by receiving the blessings of all Buddhas and Lineage Gurus.
This event aims to mark Guru Rinpoche`s birth in the Tibetan Monkey year – an auspicious date, which occurs every 12 years only. The Fire Monkey year 2143 (2016-2017) is a year dedicated to Guru Rinpoche. Khen Rinpoche will give an explanation of the connection to Guru Rinpoche at this auspicious time and the benefits to all beings of the three times.
For the traditional Tsog Offering if you like you can bring some fruits, sweeties, juice, etc.
